EA Company Store Terms and Conditions
EA Company Store Credits for Packaged Goods
To promote fun and knowledge of EA products, each year eligible employees receive credits to purchase EA Packaged Goods through company stores and/or online company stores depending on an employee’s region.
ELIGIBILITY for Participation
Employees that fall within the criteria below are eligible to participate in the Credit for Packaged Goods program.
In North America, regular full time (RFT) and regular part time (RPT) EA employees (working more than 20 hours per week) are eligible.
Outside of North America, RFT, RPT and/or Fixed Term Contractors (FTC’s) with benefits are eligible.*
* Eligibility may vary by country in compliance with local law
Credits for Packaged Goods
- Eligible employees receive Credits for Packaged Goods equivalent to $100 in local currency for use in purchasing EA Packaged Goods in January each calendar year.
- Employees can use the Credits for Packaged Goods to purchase packaged games at the employee discounted price: Most games are $20 for EA Console games and $10 for PC games. Note that prices are subject to change and may vary depending on title.
- EA Partner (EAP) titles are excluded from the program. EAP titles are those which EA publishes and distributes but does not develop.
- Once all Credits for Packaged Goods have been used, employees have the ability to purchase additional games at the employee discounted price in their region through normal channels. Employees can check with their local store or HR department for specific guidelines.
- New Hires receive the full year’s Credits for Packaged Goods the month they begin employment at EA.
- Credits for Packaged Goods must be used by December 22 of each year. Un-used credits will not carry over to the following year.
- Employees who transfer from one country to another during the year must use all of their Credits for Packaged Goods on or before their last day on payroll in the country where the credits were applied for the year. No new Credits for Packaged Goods will be issued and the employee’s Credits for Packaged Goods will not transfer with the employee to their new payroll location.
- Credits for Packaged Goods are non-transferrable. Employees may choose to use their Credits for Packaged Goods to purchase and donate EA games directly to charities or via EA Outreach.
- If applicable, EA estimates and provides an employee tax gross-up on this benefit such that on an after-tax basis, each employee will not be required to pay tax on this benefit. However, EA does NOT provide gross-up on this benefit for anything NOT treated as tax under local law. For example, mandatory retirement plan contribution under local law where the contribution goes into the employee’s individual retirement plan account would not be considered a tax and therefore EA would not provide a gross-up on such mandatory contribution under local law.
- Packaged Goods Credit runs from January 1 to December 22.
DEPARTING EMPLOYEES
Employees who are leaving EA have until their last working day to use any remaining Credits for Packaged Goods purchases. Employees will not be eligible for the Digital Game Offering reimbursement if their last work day is prior to November 1st during the calendar year.
RETURNS
Items marked as "sale" are not eligible for return or exchange; however, returns or exchanges will be accepted if the item is damaged at the time of purchase, so please check for any signs of damage when purchasing.
Regular-priced items and games may be returned or exchanged within thirty (30) days from the date of purchase, provided that items are unused, unworn, and in their original condition, and that games are unopened with the EA seal intact.
All returns and exchanges must be accompanied by valid proof of purchase. EA reserves the right to refuse any return or exchange that does not comply with this policy or in cases of suspected misuse or abuse.
GAMES STORE POLICY
EA reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to interpret and apply this program.
Employees may be required to provide receipts verifying reimbursable purchases in certain regions. You will receive notification from local accounting/payroll departments for local requirements.
By participating in this program, the employee acknowledges acceptance and agrees to the terms of this EA Games Policy in their region. It is the responsibility of each employee to honor the EA employee game benefit and to use the program for which it was intended. Employees are responsible for reporting any misuse or abuse of this Games Policy should they become aware of such issues.
Game Launch Policy
Unless stated otherwise, all launch titles are limited to 2 copies per console for the first week or launch. Please check with your local store for specific launch day information.
PERSONAL USE
This program is a benefit to enable you to enjoy games at a discounted rate for your personal use or as a gift for close family or friends. It is an infringement of this policy to buy games at a significant discount and give them away to third parties in order to receive some personal benefit, financial gain or advantage or for the third parties to receive some personal benefit or financial gain or advantage.
If purchasing a Digital Game Offering for a close family member or friend, the recipient of the gift may purchase the digital game and receive reimbursement from the EA employee. The EA employee will be required to certify on the reimbursement form that the employee has/will reimburse the recipient (e.g., family, close friend) for the purchase.
VIOLATIONS OF THIS POLICY
The practice of purchasing EA games under this program and then reselling at a financial profit is strictly prohibited. The reselling of any EA game not covered under an official EA retail agreement is unlawful and will result in prosecution and termination of employment.
At any time, EA reserves the right to investigate purchasing data including subject date on purchasers held within the ledger. This is to monitor purchasing patterns that might suggest a breach of the reselling policy. EA actively monitors sales outlets such as on-line auctions and sales sites.
The information above is the most recent company statement on this subject and supersedes any prior information. EA reserves the right to make future modifications to the above statements. EA policies do not create a contract, implied or otherwise.
